Recently, His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, who is the Ruler of Fujairah, visited the Fujairah passenger station. He was accompanied by Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, who is the Crown Prince of Fujairah and Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Etihad Rail. Here is all you need to know about this big development.

Fujairah Ruler Visits Passenger Station

For those who aren’t aware, Fujairah’s passenger station is the first completed passenger station on the network of Etihad Rail. As posted on X by the Abu Dhabi Media Office, His Highnesses were seen reviewing the services. These would be offered to passengers once it becomes fully operational. Moreover, they also reviewed the progress for the Emirates Council for Balanced Development projects in Qidfa. This is a part of the ongoing effort, which aims to develop the UAE village and also advance balanced, sustainable development

First Phase For This Is Expected To Begin In 2026

Sheikh Saleh bin Mohamed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, who is the Chairman of the Department of Industry and Economy in Fujairah, had also accompanied them on their visit. It should be noted that the passenger services are expected to be introduced gradually in carefully planned phases. The first phase is expected to begin in 2026, which ensures the highest standards of safety, reliability, and efficiency, all of which is in line with the global best practises.

So, the initial phases are going to connect Abu Dhabi and Dubai, which will extend to Fujairah on the east coast. The route selection has been based on the criteria, and these include population density, demand levels, and connectivity priorities between the Emirates.

So, with the opening expected to be soon, passengers are truly in for a comfortable and seamless experience once the route becomes operational. And from the glimpses we can see from the pictures published, the passenger station does look quite impressive.
