“Only In Dubai”, Woman Leaves AED100,000 Birkin Bag In Public And Is Shocked By What Happens Next!

Dubai has a reputation for holding the most flashy cars, skyline drama, and gold vending machines. But beneath the shine sits a deep-rooted sense of public safety. One viral moment has brought that reality back into focus, and it involves an AED100,000 Birkin bag, an Abra ride, and a whole lot of nerves to do a safety experiment in Dubai.

A post shared by Alisha Hamirani (@bikergirldubai)

Instagram creator Alisha Hamirani set the internet buzzing after posting a video from the Gold Souk area. The premise was simple and slightly unhinged in the best way. She placed her luxury Hermès Birkin bag in a public spot, walked away, boarded an Abra to Bur Dubai, and planned to return later to see if the bag was still there.

Faith In The City

Speaking directly to the camera, Hamirani clearly understood the risk. She even joked about a past experiment involving a Dior bag, a move that apparently shook her husband’s trust for a solid year.

As the Abra crossed the creek, confidence began to dip. The boat felt empty, and the wait to return stretched longer than expected. That’s the moment when she was about to give up her faith.

The Moment Of Truth At The Gold Souk

Back at the Gold Souk, Hamirani approached the spot where she had left the Birkin. The camera caught the pause and then the disbelief. The bag sat exactly where it had been left. Untouched, and that’s how her faith was immediately restored.

Her reaction said it all. Shock, relief, and one line that summed up the comment section: “Only in Dubai.”

Online reactions followed fast. Viewers from across the UAE nodded along in agreement. Many weren’t surprised at all. Comments rolled in, repeating the same idea in different words.

Why This Safety Experiment Resonated With Dubai Residents

The moment struck a chord with the crowd because it wasn’t staged security or a controlled test. It was real real-life safety experiment in Dubai with a high-value item.

Dubai consistently ranks among the world’s safest cities, and stories like this explain why. Strict laws matter, but so does culture. There’s an unspoken understanding in public spaces that some things are simply off-limits. Other people’s property tops that list.

In a world where trust feels scarce, Dubai keeps quietly proving that safety is quite common in the Emirate and people are living this reality.
