The Royal Commission for Makkah and the Holy City has revealed draft regulations. These govern Hajj transportation activities and according to the regulations, anyone who violates the provisions will be subject to a maximum fine of SAR1,00,000. Here’s all you need to know about this development, as revealed in the report ofthe Saudi Gazette.
Hajj Transportation Violation Fine Revealed
Recently, the draft regulations, which govern the Hajj transportation activities mentioned that a person who violates the provisions will be subject to a fine of no less than SAR150 and no more than SAR1,00,000. Not to mention, they will be disqualified from participating in the operation for at least one season and not exceeding three seasons. Additionally, if the violation is severe, there might even be permanent revocation of the permit for the operation of Hajj service.
Permit Is Important For Service Providers
The regulations, as mentioned, ensure that the service providers do not operate transportation services within the geographical area without permit that is issued by the guiding centre for transportation of pilgrims. Not to mention, the service providers, as revealed in the report should also submit an application expressing their desire to participate in the transportation for the pilgrimage. They should include the number of buses and the requirements that are specified by the centre to demonstrate their readiness to participate.

Furthermore, these applications will be accepted starting on the first of the Jumada al-Thani each year. It will remain open for 60 days, and the applications must be submitted electronically to the entity that is designed by the centre. Additionally, service providers must provide an alternative means of transportation immediately if a vehicle breaks down during the operation.
This should be within a period not exceeding one hour within the cities and the suburbs, and two hours if it’s outside of the city. If the service provider fails to do so, the relevant authority will provide an alternative means of transport that meets the terms and specifications approved by the centre. All the related expenses will be borne by the service provider.
Such regulations are being put in place to ensure that pilgrim can easily navigate through the cities for a blessed experience.
