The authority will be led by Sheikh Hamdan Bin, who has been appointed President of DLA. Meanwhile, Helal Saeed Almarri will serve as its Chairman.
Dubai wants to become one of the world’s leading destinations for healthcare innovation, preventive treatments and wellness services. The idea is not only to improve healthcare options but also to help people enjoy healthier lives for longer.
How Could This Benefit Residents?
Sheikh Mohammed said the true strength of a country was its people, and investment in health and quality of life remained a top priority. And he stressed that scientific advances should translate into tangible benefits that people can actually feel in their daily lives.
One of DLA’s main jobs will be regulating therapies and medical innovations connected to longevity.
That means the authority will set rules and standards for everything from research and clinical trials to manufacturing and patient care. It will also licence and supervise companies working in the sector.
The aim is to make sure innovation happens safely while still encouraging new ideas and medical developments. Dubai says the framework will be based on science and aligned with international standards.
Investors And Healthcare Companies Are Also In Focus
The authority is not only about healthcare but is also expected to attract businesses, researchers and investors from around the world.
According to officials, DLA will help create a cleaner regulatory environment for companies working on advanced therapies and medical technologies.
Helal Saeed Almarri described the longevity and wellness sector as one of the fastest-growing opportunities globally. He said to Gulf Today, Dubai wants to position itself at the centre of that growth by attracting talent, investment and specialised expertise.

Going forward, DLA is expected to organise collaborations, support promising companies and encourage discussions around future healthcare solutions.
