It’s designed for anyone curious about bees and biodiversity. Starting 18th January 2026, every Sunday morning will be a mix of classroom sessions, field trips, and practical hive work.

Dr Meriem Hammal, a certified apiculturist fondly called the “Bee Fairy Lady,” leads the programme. Her mission is to reconnect people with nature, generate awareness about pollinators, and show that bees can thrive in Dubai’s environment.
Why Learning This Is Important Now
Bees pollinate one-third of the food we eat, and yet, they face habitat loss threats, the use of pesticides, and climate change. Terra’s initiative brings these tiny but mighty creatures back into urban life. This programme teaches participants how to care for hives while contributing to Dubai’s biodiversity.
Through the course, you’ll not only learn how to manage a hive, inspect colonies, and harvest honey ethically. Also, learn how pollination impacts entire ecosystems.

The five-day programme runs over five weeks, every Sunday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at Terra, Expo City Dubai. It welcomes ages 9 and up, with no prior experience required. The course fee is AED 2,200, inclusive of VAT, and includes three optional field trips with expert beekeepers across the UAE. Participants earn a certificate upon completion.
You’ll also get the chance to identify native melliferous plants, understand seasonal foraging patterns, and learn how to prevent bee diseases.
