Old Doha Port Launches ‘Experience Ramadan At The Port’ Campaign

In Doha, evenings during Ramadan are experienced in a different way when they are spent by the water. Old Doha Port is leading the way with a full calendar of cultural events, family-friendly events and late-night celebrations under its new campaign, Experience Ramadan at the Port. And it gets so deeply entrenched in the experience of the Holy Month.

Experience Ramadan At Old Doha Port Through These Activities

As stated in a report by the Gulf News, the campaign will be aired on Qatar TV during the entire period of Ramadan. One can notice when people are silent before the meal and are filled with soft power that will fill the entire port even after sunset. The artistic tone is inspired by the seagulls floating above the harbour, making Ramadan as it comes.

The Rhythm Of The Month, Pause, And Prayer

The programme is still based on spiritual life. Taraweeh prayers will again be performed daily in the Mina District Mosque. It will provide a tranquil environment for the worshippers to have a chance to reflect and reconnect. The still atmosphere is then effortlessly transferred into the social rituals of the evening.

Before the Maghrib, the families visit Mina Park to observe the Ramadan Cannon. This tradition of Qatar is still alive, and crowds flock the waterfront awaiting the firing of the cannon at sunset and the breaking of the fast.

Familiar Memories, Food And Flavour

The Throwback Food Festival is another event that goes back to Mina Park in partnership with Visit Qatar. Local food vendors offer traditional Ramadan foods and desserts in an environment that reminds traditional souqs and family events.

The festival operates every day during the period of Ramadan and remains open between 5.30 pm and 2 am during weekdays and 3 am during weekends. Anticipate cosy lights, well-known food smells and the type of food that is the source of dinner-table talk.

Nights That Are Community Property

When the night falls, Mina District is filled with traditions that lots of people heard all their lives. The Musaher Al Mina also makes regular rounds every night after 10 pm-11 pm in the district. This is a revival of the traditional suhoor call.

The mid-month is marked by Garangao, which is celebrated on the 14th night of Ramadan. Iftar till 9 pm, children in colourful clothes gather sweets and participate in activities with references to the heritage. It is one of the most popular traditions of the Holy Month, and Old Doha Port provides it with the necessary space. A considered Goodbye and a vintage turn.

In the last four nights, the Wadaa Ramadan pays an apt goodbye to the month. The events take place between 10 pm and 11 pm in Mina District and are dedicated to the cultural experience, as the society is ready to celebrate Eid Al Fitr.
