With the summer vacations here, Sharjah Museum Authority is doing something special for kiddos. Yes, for the summer season 2026, they have announced their plans to launch a wide range of educational programmes, interactive experiences, family activities, training initiatives, and more. Here’s a full plan of events by the Sharjah Authority.

With the aim of strengthening the role of museums as a centre for learning, discovery, and creativity, Sharjah Museum Authority has launched a comprehensive plan of programmes aimed at children, youth and families.
Ambassadors Programmes
The summer season 2026 will open with this programme, and it is designed for people who are aged 13 to 17 years. With the closing ceremony on July 20th, the programme develops museum guiding, public speaking, presentation, and communication skills. All of these are done through practical workshops and hands-on experiences across three Sharjah museums.
When: July 13-16
Happy Holiday Summer Camp
This, as the name suggests, is a summer camp, complete with educational activities and creative workshops. It welcomes children aged 7 to 12, and it combines heritage, arts, and sciences across several museums.
When: July 13th to August 20th
Junior Aquarist Programme
Under this programme, practical experiences in marine life, water quality management, aquarium operations, and educational workshops on marine ecosystems will be given to children aged 9 to 13.
When: August 3rd to 6th
Young Calligrapher Programme
This program is running in August at the Al Qasimia School – Museum of Education. It will introduce children to Arabic calligraphy and Kufic script. This will be done through hands-on workshops.

More Activities To Look Forward To
Family activities, however, continue with ‘Summer is Better with Family at Sharjah Science Museum’. This would feature scientific and artistic workshops, interactive games, and more. Mould Story workshop will also be presented by the SMA and the resistance monument on August 22nd. Therein, participants will be able to create decorative Jesmonite plates. They will also get to learn about the history of plate making. Moon Day at Sharjah Science Museum will be happening on July 19th, which will offer interactive experiences in astronomy and space exploration.
Not only this, but temporary exhibitions will also be taking place. For instance, the 41st Annual Exhibition of the Emirates Fine Arts Society, Urban Memory, will be happening at Sharjah Arts Museum until July 16th. Not only this, but Native Plants in the UAE: The Roots of the Past to the Shades of the Present at Sharjah Heritage Museum until April 29th, 2027.
