Spartan World Championship is one of the most awaited events in Abu Dhabi, and it is returning for the sixth edition. This is a major international obstacle course and endurance race that’s being organised by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council. Returning in November in the Al Wathba desert, it brings together elite athletes, challenge enthusiasts, and professionals from around the world.
Spartan World Championship To Return For Sixth Edition
Abu Dhabi Media Office announced the sixth edition of the Spartan World Championship is making its return from November 19th to 22nd in Al Wathba Desert. To be hosted by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, this championship builds on the success of the previous edition. As it attracts strong participation from athletes and competitors from different continents, the four-day programme is full of exhilarating challenges.
The Event Starts On November 19th

It should be noted that this event features a four-day programme of races in Al Wathba. On November 19th, the action begins with Neon Night Challenge, which is basically a women’s-only 5 km race that features 20 obstacles. The race will be taking place in a closed environment so that there is the highest level of privacy. Moreover, it will be supervised entirely by a female crew, with there being no media coverage or photography.
The competition then continues on November 22nd with the Open Night Challenge, which is basically a night race that’s open to men and women. With a 5 km course that features 20 obstacles, it offers participants an experience they cannot miss. The main event takes place on November 21st, which features the Spartan Beast World Championship. This is a 21 km race featuring 30+ obstacles. It brings together elite and age-group qualifiers along with open category participants.

Championship Ends On November 22nd
Youth races, which include everything from 1 km to 3 km, will also be happening on the same day. It would encourage youth athletes to experience obstacle racing.
The championship ends on November 22nd with the Spartan Super race. This is an over 10 km race with 25 obstacles. It will be happening alongside the Spartan World Team Relay Championship and will feature mixed teams of three athletes that would be representing their countries in the competitive team format. The day will then conclude with an open 5 km sprint race, which would give members of the community a chance to experience the Spartan challenge in the massive desert.
This is a leading obstacle and endurance racing event that tests the physical and mental abilities of the participant. With the championship expected to attract thousands of participants and visitors from around the world, it would further enhance Abu Dhabi’s reputation as a calendar destination for major sporting events.
