Recently, Emirates announced that it has officially launched Crypto.com Pay. So basically, customers in the UAE can now pay for their flight with the help of a digital payment solution. This can be done as they book through the website or mobile app of the airline, and here’s all you need to know about this major development from the airline.

Emirates Now Allows Payment Via Cryptocurrency

As revealed by the Dubai Media Office, a new payment option is now available for customers in the UAE for Emirates. Yes, travellers who have an account with Crypto.com Pay can book their flights priced and settled in UAE Dirham. The launch follows after an MoU was signed between Emirates and Crypto.com back in July 2025. This was done with the aim of integrating Crypto.com Pay in the digital payment system of the airline.

How Does The Payment System Work?

The next question that arises is: how does this system work? Well, it’s quite easy. Customers who are booking through emirates.com or through the app can select Crypto.com Pay while checking out. The transactions are processed securely, and it complies with the regulatory standards of the UAE. This move showcases their commitment towards expanding customer choice when it comes to payment for travel. Additionally, it also reflects the preferences of a younger and digitally connected generation, which manages finances and travels through smartphones.

How To Pay For The Tickets?

Coming back to the system, the payment process is different, depending on where the customer is booking the tickets from. If the tickets are being booked on the website, customers will have to select Crypto.com Pay on checkout and then scan the QR code, which is displayed on the payment page with the help of the crypto.com app. After this, they will have to prove the payment in the app, and once the payment is confirmed, the booking confirmation and tickets get displayed.

However, if a customer is booking their tickets on the Emirates app, they will be redirected to the crypto.com app for approving payment from their wallet. Then select Crypto.com Pay during checkout. After this, they get returned to the Emirates app, where the booking confirmation and e-tickets get issued.

The launch, as revealed by Emirates, supports Dubai’s cashless strategy under D33 Economic Agenda. This agenda aims to make 90% of financial transactions across government and private sectors digital by the end of 2026.
