SalamAir Launches Direct Muscat–Damascus Flights, Boosting Affordable Regional Travel

SalamAir Adds Damascus To Its Growing Route Map

The first flight on the Muscat–Damascus route is scheduled to fly on May 2, 2026. According to their official press release, the schedule is subject to government approval. Services will operate twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The timings are yet to be announced, but it will be prepared with convenience for both business and leisure travellers.

Why Damascus Matters As A Destination

Damascus is more than just a country on a map. It is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world and remains a major cultural and economic centre in the region. Also, it plays a key role in commerce, education, and public institutions. It turns out to be a steady travel option for families, professionals, and Syrian citizens.

SalamAir Focusing On Building Communities & Connections

The Muscat–Damascus route depends heavily on the demand from the Syrian community living in Oman. The citizens are frequently visiting family or maintaining business ties. With SalamAir’s direct flight, it becomes easy and more affordable for frequent flyers.

At the same time, the route strengthens Muscat’s role as a regional connector. Through Muscat, passengers can access SalamAir’s wider network across the Middle East and beyond.

Part Of A Bigger Expansion Plan

Damascus is one of the four new destinations SalamAir has revealed in recent weeks. The airline has already confirmed upcoming routes to Port Sudan, Medan, and Vienna, all scheduled to operate from Muscat in 2026.

SalamAir is expanding depending on the regional demand with selective international reach, all while keeping fares competitive.
