If you’ve been putting off renewing your Indian passport in the UAE because of all the back-and-forth this year, here’s some clarity, finally! The Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi has confirmed that Al Hind Tours & Travels LLC will take over all passport, visa and attestation services across the UAE starting Wednesday, July 22.
Al Hind Takes Over Indian Passport Services In UAE, Starting July 22nd
Services will now run through 16 Indian Consular Application Centres (ICACs) spread across the UAE, replacing the temporary in-house setup the Embassy and Consulate had been running. That means from July 22, you can no longer walk into the Embassy in Abu Dhabi or the Consulate in Dubai for these services directly; it’s all through Al Hind now. Appointments open on the official portal, consularsevainuae.com, with fresh slots released twice a day, at 9 am and 9 pm. Centres will be open daily from 8 am to 6 pm, and applicants are advised to arrive no more than 15 minutes early.

The Fees And Who’s Eligible?
Alongside the revised Government of India fees (updated from July 1), Al Hind will charge a flat AED 19 service fee, inclusive of VAT, covering form filling, typing, photography, photocopying and courier delivery. Good news for urgent cases: walk-ins are still accepted, first-come-first-served, for Tatkal passports, newborn registrations, Emergency Certificates and applicants aged 60 and above.

Why This Took So Long
This handover has been anything but smooth. The Embassy had originally awarded the contract to Al Hind after a November 2025 tender, with a July 1 start date planned. But rival bidders challenged the process in the Delhi High Court, forcing the Embassy and Dubai Consulate to run services in-house for the first time in nearly 17 years. On July 15, the Court set aside the tender altogether, ordering fresh proposals for Indian missions in Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, Singapore and Canberra within a month. The government appealed to the Supreme Court, but on July 20, it declined to intervene, clearing the way for Al Hind to finally step in.
