Kuwait International Airport’s Terminal 1 Struck; Emergency Response Measure Activated

Kuwait’s Public Authority for Civil Aviation activated its emergency plan at the Kuwait International Airport on Wednesday, June 3rd. This came after Terminal 1 was struck by hostile objects, which caused casualties and damage to several facilities. As revealed in a statement carried by the Kuwait News Agency, the emergency protocols have been established to ensure the safety of workers and passengers.

Due to the damage at Terminal 1, air traffic had been suspended, and flights were diverted to a nearby airport. Soon after, news came from the Kuwait News Agency that Kuwait Airways had resumed all flights through Terminal 4 after safety checks and damage assessments.

Emergency Teams Were Deployed

Talking about the incident, it was mentioned by The Siasat Daily that one person was killed and extensive damage was caused to Terminal 1. As mentioned by the Kuwait General Civil Aviation Authority, substantial damage had occurred to the airport’s infrastructure. Emergency teams had been deployed so that the site could be secured.

Indigo Suspends Flights Until June 4th

Due to this development, Indigo suspended its flight operations to and from Kuwait. This is an Indian carrier that announced in a travel advisory, which it posted on X. It mentioned how all Indigo flights to and from Kuwait would be suspended until June 4th, 1200 hours. The airline describes this move as a precautionary measure, which has been taken keeping the safety and well-being of customers in mind.

So, customers of the airline have been advised to check their flight status before proceeding to the airport.
