For travellers in the Gulf, long flights are simply part of life. Whether it’s heading from Dubai to New York, Doha to Sydney or Abu Dhabi to Tokyo, spending eight, ten or even fourteen hours in economy isn’t unusual. Which is why a few extra inches of legroom can suddenly feel very important. A new ranking of airlines by Simple Flying for the World’s spacious economy cabins for 2026 has put three Middle East carriers in the list. And for anyone who has spent an overnight flight trying to get comfortable, the results probably won’t come as much of a surprise.
These Airlines Offer The World’s Most Spacious Economy Seats In 2026
Leading the Middle East representation is Qatar Airways, which earned praise for keeping its economy seating fairly consistent across much of its fleet. Passengers can generally expect around 31 inches of seat pitch along with seats close to 18 inches wide, giving travellers a little more breathing room on long-haul journeys.
Emirates also secured a place among the best as per the report by NDTV.
The Dubai-based airline offers around 32 inches of seat pitch on most aircraft, while some of its newer planes come with slightly wider seats too.
Then there’s Turkish Airlines. The airline didn’t make the main top six but was singled out as offering dimensions close to some of the best in the business.

Asian Airlines Continue To Raise The Bar
Singapore Airlines was another carrier recognised for spacious seating.
Most of its aircraft offer similar legroom to Emirates, although passengers flying on its Airbus A380 aircraft can expect even more space in some cabins.
Japan’s ANA, better known as All Nippon Airways, stood out by offering up to 34 inches of seat pitch on several international routes.
Japan Airlines matched that figure on parts of its fleet, making both carriers particularly attractive for travellers facing long journeys across Asia or the Pacific.
One American Airline Quietly Made The List Too
JetBlue was the only airline on the ranking operating an entirely narrow-body fleet.
Despite that, it still managed to offer some of the most generous economy seating dimensions among global carriers, particularly on selected routes where passengers can enjoy even more legroom.

Some Big Names Just Missed Out
The list wasn’t limited to six airlines.
Qantas, Delta Air Lines and Turkish Airlines were also highlighted for offering economy cabins that come close to matching the leaders.
That said, the ranking focused purely on seat size and consistency across fleets rather than food, entertainment or lounge access.
For many travellers in the Middle East, especially those regularly crossing continents, that might be the detail that matters most anyway.
