Indian expats who are living in the UAE are in for some brilliant news. It’s no secret that reaching a passport centre during the week is a hassle and a task in itself. And then waiting for the same over the weekend to get their passport delivered by courier is another task. To address these issues, the Indian Consumer Application Centres run by Alhind Global Services across the UAE have launched a new Sunday Passport Collection Counter. These are open at all 16 ICACs, and we are here to tell you all about it
ICAC Opens Sunday Passport Collection Counter
As revealed in a report by Gulf News, the Indian Consumer Application Centres, which are run by Alhind Global Services, have announced the opening of a new Sunday passport collection counter. These are open at all 16 ICACs across the country. With this additional service starting from September 20th, it is under the guidance of the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Indian Consulate in Dubai. It’s worth noting that this comes as Alhind marks two months of operations.
Applications Cannot Be Submitted On Sundays
At this point, it’s worth noting that the Sunday counter is Open from 10 AM to 12 PM. Not to mention, it has been introduced in response to customer requirements. As it happens, applicants cannot submit applications on Sundays as those centres are closed on the day. Additionally, ICAC also usually operates from 8 AM to 6 PM from Monday to Sunday. This new counter is solely for passport collection.

Passports Can Be Collected On Sundays
It’s worth mentioning that the new Sunday passport delivery counter, which is open at the ICAC, in turn caters to applicants who cannot visit the centre on weekdays. It is particularly ideal for people who find it difficult to visit the centres on weekdays due to their work or any other reason. Not to mention, it also helps others who find it difficult to receive passports by courier on an urgent basis over the weekend. So applicants will now be able to collect the passports in person even on the holiday. Instead of waiting for the same for the courier service until Monday rolls in.
This development comes as Alhind ICACs opened on July 22nd. And one hundred per cent of the earlier backlogs have now been cleared, as revealed by the Indian missions. It should be noted that appointments are fully available. This makes access to the service a lot easier without there being a long wait, and operations have also been streamlined across all the centres. It’s worth mentioning that walk-in services are also available at all these centres for eligible applicants under the application procedures.
