Gargash Motors, the official UAE distributor for GAC Motor, has launched the GAC GS7 PHEV at its Deira showroom in Dubai, the brand’s largest facility in the country. Marketed under the tagline “Seeing is Believing,” the full-size, five-seat SUV is being pitched less as a list of specifications and more as a vehicle meant to be experienced firsthand.
GAC Unveils GS7 PHEV Hybrid SUV in the UAE
A New Full-Size Hybrid Enters the UAE Market
The GS7 PHEV runs on GAC’s third-generation hybrid system, combining a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine with a 36.3 kWh LFP battery for a combined output of 501 hp, sent to all four wheels through GAC’s Intelligent Electric AWD and a 6-in-1 transmission. That setup delivers a 0-100 km/h time of 5.8 seconds, a top speed of 185 km/h, and a combined range of up to 1,020 km under CLTC testing. Even with a depleted battery, fuel consumption stays at 6.5 L/100 km (WLTC), aided by a 50-litre tank. Four drive modes: Comfort, Sport, Eco and Off-road, let drivers adjust the vehicle to different conditions, and a companion smartphone app extends certain vehicle controls beyond the cabin.
Size, Design and First-Class Comfort
At 4,900 mm long, 1,950 mm wide and 1,780 mm tall, with a 2,880 mm wheelbase, the GS7 PHEV has the scale expected of a full-size SUV. Exterior touches include 20-inch wheels, AI headlights, a “Skyline” front light strip, hidden electric door handles, soft-close doors, and heated power-folding mirrors. Inside, Nappa leather seating, a suede headliner, ventilated and massaging seats across four positions, and a second row that reclines to 137 degrees with memory settings all point toward a cabin designed around rear-seat comfort. A panoramic sunroof with RGB ambient lighting rounds out the interior.
Tech, Sound And A Quieter Cabin
The SUV comes with a 27-inch head-up display. It also gets a 15.6-inch central touchscreen and an 8.88-inch digital instrument cluster. A four-zone voice recognition system allows for hands-free control throughout the cabin.
For entertainment, there is a 22-speaker, 1,640-watt audio system. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also available. Dual-pane acoustic glass helps reduce outside noise. The quiet nature of electric driving mode further keeps the cabin peaceful.
Leadership Comments
Morgan Sunderland, General Manager at Gargash Motors, said the campaign name reflects a car that is best understood through direct experience rather than spec sheets. He noted that UAE buyers are discerning enough to recognise the difference once they experience the car themselves. Mark Zhang, Vice President and General Manager of GAC Middle East, described the launch as a significant step in GAC’s electrified lineup. He also reaffirmed the UAE’s position as a key regional market for the brand.
