The Ministry of Interior recently announced that it would be terminating the temporary extension, which has been given to all types of expired and soon-to-expire entry visas. As revealed in a report of the Gulf News, this is effective from Sunday, June 7th.
It was mentioned that the ministry said this extension-related decision was announced on March 3rd. This was done due to regional tensions, flight cancellations and closure of airspace. And now the authorities say that the standard visa validity period, renewal requirements, and the prescribed fees would apply again from the June deadline.

Residents Must Ensure Their Legal Status Remains Valid
As it happens, the ministry also asked residents and visitors, along with all the concerned parties, to ensure that their legal status remains valid. They can do so by renewing the visa within the specified timeframe and by paying the required fees, or they must depart the country upon the visa’s expiration. It also mentions how the violation of visa regulations can result in legal consequences. There can be penalties for overstaying, which would be in accordance with the Qatari laws and procedures.
With the extension expiring soon, people whose entry visa needs renewal or has expired must quickly ensure that they apply for renewal so that their lawful stay in the country does not get affected. But before we conclude, it’s worth mentioning that this development comes just a few days after Qatar Airways resumed flights to several destinations. This resumption has been happening in a phased manner as the airline’s network gets rebuilt.
