Yes, the Dubai Municipality announced on Friday, January 31 that it has installed 237 smart traps across several locations to combat the same.

As mentioned in a report by Khaleej Times, Dubai has installed 237 smart traps to combat mosquitoes and insects. This is a significant step in its ongoing efforts to enhance public health and safety. Talking about these traps, they aren’t just ordinary bug catchers but are eco-friendly as well. Not to mention, these traps are solar-powered and therefore provide around-the-clock monitoring. At this point, it’s worth mentioning that these traps also help in tracking insect population distribution, thereby helping authorities eliminate mosquito breeding hotspots.
With the installation of smart traps, Dubai has become an all the more sustainable place to live. However, this isn’t the first time that the emirate is actively tackling pests.

Dubai Residents Can Apply For Free Service
In fact, residents of Dubai can also apply for free pest control services through the municipality. The types of pests covered differ between citizens and expats. However, the goal is of course to keep the people safe.
