From April 1, travellers traversing Mumbai’s Bandra-Worli Sea Link will have to shell out more at the toll booths. The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has announced a toll hike of almost 18% on this bridge recently. The return journey passes and daily passes will also cost 1.5 and 2.5 times their respective one-way toll charges from now on. New Toll Charges On The Bandra-Worli Sea Link

According to the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC), one-way journeys on the Bandra-Worli Link Road will see a toll hike of about 18% from April 1. This means cars and jeeps will now have to pay ₹100 for a one-way trip. Likewise, minibuses, tempos, and similar vehicles will have to pay a fee of ₹160. For two-axle trucks, the toll price has gone up to ₹210 for a one-way trip.

For return journey passes and daily passes, the motorists will now have to pay 1.5 and 2.5 times the one-way toll charge, respectively. As for frequent travellers, the monthly passes are now priced 50 times the one-way toll rate. These revised rates are applicable from April 1, 2024, to March 21, 2027. The last time the MSRDC decided to revise the toll rates on this bridge was on April 1, 2021.

Discounts For Frequent Travellers & Future Plans For Sea Link

Motorists can get a 10-20% discount on these revised toll charges. All they have to do is purchase booklets containing 50 toll coupons in advance and they can get a 10% discount on the total sum. Similarly, if they buy booklets containing 100 toll coupons, they can get a 20% discount on the total amount.

There are also plans to link this bridge to other infrastructure projects in Mumbai. Reportedly, the authorities plan to join the Bandra-Worli Sea Link to the under-construction Marine Drive-Worli coastal road at the Southern end and the Bandra-Versova coastal road at the Northern end. This will help the daily travellers significantly, once operational.
