Many people take cab rides to travel between Mumbai and nearby cities like Nashik, Shirdi and Pune. It was recently announced that these cab rides are all set to get more expensive from next month onwards. The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Transport Authority or MMRTA has recently approved the hike in the rates of taxis. Here are all of the other important details that you would need to know about this hike in cab rates.

Hike In Cab Rides To Nashik, Shirdi And Pune From Mumbai

According to an article which was recently published by Mid-Day, the increase in rate is applicable for both, non-AC Black and Yellow taxis as well as AC Blue and Silver cabs. AC cab services between Mumbai and Shirdi are now more expensive by ₹200.

For AC cabs, the route between Mumbai and Shirdi will now cost a total of ₹825. The route between Mumbai and Nashik will cost a total of ₹575.

The fare for non-AC cabs between Mumbai and Pune is now ₹500. For AC cabs, the price is now ₹575. These revised rates will come into effect from the next month onwards as per reports, though, no precise date has been announced.

Other Important Details That You Should Know About This

If reports are to go by, this revision in fares was accepted because of the recommendations made by the Khatua Panel. This panel was formed by the government of Maharashtra to review the fares of the taxi.

The panel was also responsible for hearing the demands of the representatives of unions of taxi drivers who work on these routes. Reports also stated that the last time the taxi rates were revised was in September 2013 for the Mumbai-Nashik route and August 2021 for the Mumbai-Pune route.
