Let’s be honest, we have all taken shampoos, soaps, and toothpastes from hotel rooms after checking out. While all these are acceptable amenities to take, some guests take this a step further and even flick slippers, towels, and other hotel property. To deter such guests, a Mumbai hotel has come up with a cool hack. Scroll on to know more about it.
Mumbai Hotel’s Hack To Prevent Guests From Flicking Slippers
This Bombay hotel provides bathroom slippers. But to ensure people don’t flick them, they provide mismatched pairs. pic.twitter.com/zwAUMoPITI

X (formerly Twitter) user Thejaswi Udupa (@udupendra) shared a post where a Mumbai hotel came up with a clever solution to prevent the theft of complimentary slippers from their hotel rooms. The hotel offers mismatched slippers, mostly in different colours, to discourage guests from flicking them. The idea is simple, a pair of mismatched slippers is quite useless for guests to take home.
In the picture shared in the post, you can spot two flip-flops, one olive-green and the other orangish-brown, placed in front of the bathroom door. The X user believes this ingenious strategy renders the slippers useless for guests to take home. In the caption, he said, “This Bombay hotel provides bathroom slippers. But to ensure people don’t flick them, they provide mismatched pairs.”

A hotel in Japan noticed guests were taking the fancy pens from their rooms. Instead of stopping them, they switched to pens with their website printed on them.
Now, every “stolen” pen became free advertising!
