August was a bit of a dry month but now, Mumbai rains are back. The first week of September brought with it dense clouds and a cool atmosphere, all signs of monsoon returning to the city. While some Mumbaikars are thrilled to witness these kaale megha looming over the cityscape like a thick foggy duvet, others cannot stop worrying about how the returning rain will impact their daily commute. Here’s how Mumbaikars feel about the returning rains.

Mumbai is set to witness heavy rains for the next few days. Though the monsoon season is not yet over, the month of August did not bring much rain. However, this will change in September as the monsoon season will return to the city.

While many people are enjoying the cloudy, cosy weather that the city is witnessing, many fear the travel woes it will bring. Millions of people travel via the local trains every day. The schedule of the local trains is significantly impacted by the monsoon. Hence, many run the risk of getting late to work.

Despite these worries, many Mumbaikars welcomed the rain with open arms. After all, the Mumbai monsoon is unparalleled. The experience itself is quite romanticised. Especially when it comes to young lovebirds who see Mumbai rains as a bonding opportunity.
