Mumbaikars, we have some good news for you! It has been reported that the Mumbai Coastal Road Project is more than 90% complete. Keeping this progress in mind, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to open the 3.5 km stretch of Mumbai Coastal Road’s northbound from Haji Ali to Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan Marg, just before the Bandra-Worli Sea Link, on July 11. 3.5 Km Stretch Of Coastal Road’s Northbound Arm To Open On July 11
On July 11, the BMC will open a 3.5 km stretch of Mumbai Coastal Road’s northbound arm. This stretch will cover the distance between Haji Ali and Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan Marg in Worli. Furthermore, it is expected to reduce traffic congestion at Haji Ali junction. With this, five of the eight arms of the Coastal Road interchangers at Haji Ali will be operational.
The northbound arm of the Coastal Road was opened for traffic on June 10. The Marine Drive-Haji Ali stretch is operational on weekdays and has two exits and entry points at Breach Candy and Haji Ali.

Seamless Journey From Bandra To South Mumbai
According to a Times of India report, the Mumbai Coastal Road connector to Bandra-Worli Sea Link is also expected to be opened by July-end. Giant girders connecting the Bandra-Worli Sea Link to Mumbai Coastal Road have been successfully installed. This will make travelling from Bandra to South Mumbai a seamless experience and also significantly reduce travel time. It is believed that once operational, this road will reduce travel time between Bandra to South Mumbai to just 12 minutes! Currently, it takes more than 30 minutes to cover this distance.
