Mumbai’s dining scene is active this August with a fresh wave of restaurant openings. From authentic Italian pizzerias and Pan-Asian favourites to rooftop bars and neighbourhood cafés, there’s a lot this month to explore. What are you waiting for? 1. GOAT Brew, Andheri West

GOAT Brew is Mumbai’s newest all-day café set up as a social space for anything from coffee meetings to live music nights. Founded by Lizaa Malik and Saurabh Pathak, the pet-friendly venue serves comfort food by Chef Allen Gomes, with highlights including Gochujang Glazed Chicken, Citrus-Grilled Salmon and Veg Thai Green Curry, alongside signature cocktails, craft beers and mocktails.

2. Wagamama, Worli

Popular Pan-Asian chain Wagamama is opening its second Mumbai outlet in Worli on August 5, after the success of its Churchgate restaurant. The new outpost will serve the brand’s signature ramen, Chicken Katsu Curry, Firecracker Chicken, gyozas, donburi bowls and salads, alongside a wide range of vegetarian, vegan and Jain-friendly options.

3. Vincenzo Capuano, Lower Parel

Vincenzo Capuano, the internationally acclaimed Neapolitan pizzeria, has opened its first Indian outlet in Lower Parel, Mumbai. Founded by World Champion pizzaiolo Vincenzo Capuano, the dining establishment is known for its signature 30-hour-fermented Cloud Pizza, authentic Neapolitan recipes, and India-exclusive pizzas like Chicken Tikka and Paneer Chimichurri. The menu also features Italian antipasti, pasta, desserts, and cocktails, bringing an original taste of Naples to Mumbai.

4. Horizon, Worli

Located nearly 600 feet above the Arabian Sea atop Raheja Imperia-I in Worli, Horizon is Mumbai’s exclusive latest luxury rooftop resto-bar. Providing sweeping city and sea views, the venue pairs an elegant dining experience with handcrafted cocktails, premium spirits, fine wines and a globally inspired menu including dim sums, artisanal pizzas, contemporary Indian grills and small plates.

5. Gulmurg At The Shalimar Hotel, Kemps Corner

A South Mumbai dining institution, Gulmurg at The Shalimar Hotel, has reopened after an 18-month restoration. First opened in 1962, the restaurant has refreshed its interiors and dining experience while preserving its signature dishes. The updated menu also has regional influences and seasonal additions.

6. Janu By Blondie, Juhu

Bastian Hospitality has unveiled Janu by Blondie, a new all-day Indian café that offers traditional Indian flavours a contemporary twist. Additionally, the menu features dishes like Raj Kachori Chaat, Palak Patta Chaat, Black Dal with Khameeri, Zaffreno Pasta, Malaiyo and Apple Jalebi, in addition to inventive beverages such as the Rasmalai Matcha, Rasgulla Tiramisu Latte and signature cocktails.

7. Yum Yum Cha, Phoenix Palladium

Delhi’s famous Pan-Asian restaurant Yum Yum Cha has launched its Mumbai debut at Phoenix Palladium. Popular for its playful take on Asian dining, the restaurant serves handcrafted dim sum, sushi, sashimi, sizzling stone bowls, hot pots, Cheung Fun, Japanese pizzas, and its iconic Mochi Ice Cream. With colourful origami-inspired interiors and an open kitchen, Yum Yum Cha is a vibrant new dining destination in South Mumbai.

8. Amichi, Bandra

Bringing the charm of a traditional Italian neighbourhood pizzeria to Mumbai, Amichi is a cosy 16-seater in Bandra founded by Italian-born Angelo and Mishal. The menu centres around authentic Neapolitan-style pizzas, made using slow-fermented dough, traditional techniques and recipes taught by a chef brought in from Italy. Also, with its intimate setting and warm hospitality, Amichi offers a truly authentic slice of Italy in Mumbai.

9. Fi’lia, Vile Parle

10. The Bigg Small Cafe, Thane

The Bigg Small Café has launched its third Mumbai outlet in Thane. It’s designed as an all-day café that transforms into a lively bar by evening.  The space features contemporary interiors and a lively social atmosphere. Overall, the menu features DIY Wok Bowls, Old Delhi Butter Chicken, Khao Suey, Truffle Mushroom Baklava, stone-fired pizzas, indulgent desserts and signature cocktails.

11. Pali Bhavan Eros Studio, Churchgate

After over a decade in Bandra, Pali Bhavan has reopened at Eros Studio, Churchgate. Finally, it’s bringing its signature Indian cuisine and warm hospitality to South Mumbai. Additionally, the restaurant keeps up its legacy of comforting, flavourful dishes. Expect thoughtfully prepared curries, robust appetisers, and balanced accompaniments, providing a dining experience centred on leisurely meals, sharing, and conversation in an elegant new setting.
