Mumbai’s most loved cultural celebration, the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival, finally comes to an end today, February 8, 2026. After a week filled with energy, stunning installations and exciting concerts, the city is getting ready to say goodbye. But a festival like this cannot end quietly. The final day promises a grand and exciting finish. Here’s what you can expect today — scroll down to know more!

What’s Happening On The Last Day Of Kala Ghoda Arts Festival

From 2 pm to 4 pm, people can visit YWCA International for a tea session with expert Xavier Fernandes, who will speak about different types of tea and how to enjoy a good cup of chai. According to the Free Press Journal, at 3:30 pm, multiple activities will take place at the same time. CSMVS will host a treasure hunt until 4:30 pm. Participants must register by emailing education@csmvs.in, and a museum ticket is required. At the same time, Cama Hall will hold a karaoke session until 5 PM, where Gaurav Sharma, also known as Wakao, will lead a musical tribute to Mumbai.

Kids aged 5 to 9 can join a fun session at the CSMVS Children’s Museum from 4 pm to 5:30 pm. Author Nandita da Cunha will read from her book What’s the Point of Kiki? and engage children through storytelling and drawing activities.

From 5:30 pm to 6:45 pm, Farhan Akhtar will perform his new English songs at the Asiatic Library Steps. At 7 pm, you will have two options. Banu Mushtaq and Volga will discuss feminism at the David Sasson Library Garden, while Swaraj Stories will present a virtual tour at Khaki Lab, taking visitors back to Mumbai’s role in the freedom movement.

And of course, no festival ends without music and dance. From 8:15 pm to 9:50 pm, Monali Thakur will perform live at the Asiatic Library Steps. Meanwhile, from 9:10 pm to 9:50 pm at Cross Maidan, Kumar Sharma and his troupe will present an energetic Kathak performance with a modern twist. It’s the perfect way to close the festival.

What All Happened At The Festival So Far?

So far, the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival has given Mumbai many memorable moments. Music lovers enjoyed a live concert by legendary singer Usha Uthup. Several videos from her performance went viral on social media, showing people dancing and singing along.

Vir Das also made a special appearance at the festival. He introduced his first memoir and interacted with the audience. The festival also welcomed a Tibetan Cultural Delegation, offering a glimpse of Tibetan art and culture. Actors Mona Singh and Anupam Kher attended the festival and shared their thoughts during their sessions.
