We have some exciting news to share with all travellers travelling from Mysuru to Chennai. This route will be the first route in South India running the Vande Bharat Express via Bengaluru. With the commencement of this brand new train, another piece of news is that the Shatabdi Express is not cancelled on Mysuru to Chennai route. It is truly bonus news for everyone travelling here as they can enjoy the amazing facilities of these two exclusive trains.

Mysuru To Chennai Travellers Can Now Travel On Vande Bharat Express

Vande Bharat Express is India’s fastest train and soon it will start operating on the Mysuru to Chennai route. This express train will run via Bengaluru creating a connection between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Vande Bharat Express on this route on 11 November.

All You Need To Know About The Vande Bharat Express Running On This Route:

  • Train Number 20608 will ferry passengers from Chennai to Mysuru. And Train Number 20607 will carry passengers from Mysuru to Chennai.
  • Starting the journey from Mysuru, the train will run 504 km to reach Chennai and vice versa.
  • The train will leave Mysuru Junction at 1:05 pm. It will reach Bengaluru City Junction at 2:55 pm. It will take 7:35 pm to reach the destination, Chennai Central.
  • The express train will leave Chennai Central is 5:50 am. It will reach Bengaluru City Junction by 10:25 am. And after a stop of 5 minutes, the train will run towards Mysuru Junction and reach the destination at 12:30 pm.
  • It will take less than 7 hours to cover the distance between Mysuru and Chennai.
  • Except on Wednesday, the train will run on the tracks from Sunday to Friday, according to a report by Star Of Mysore.
  • The train will have a seating capacity of 1,128 passengers.

Shatabdi Express Will Run On The Same Route

There was confusion with the operation of the Shatabdi Express. Pratap Simha, the MP of Mysuru-Kodagu put an end to the rumours. He shared with Star of Mysore that both Vande Bharat Express and Shatabdi Express will run on the Mysuru to Chennai route.
