After successfully starting many major lines in the Mumbai metro, it is time for Navi Mumbai to enjoy this mode of public transport. The Navi Mumbai metro is being constructed by the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO). They recently took to Twitter and announced that the Line 1 of Metro will be open this month. Though the exact date of this opening was not mentioned, this news was still a welcome one for many people.
Navi Mumbai Metro Lines And Their Details
The Navi Mumbai Metro rail network is said to have a total of five lines. However, so far, only details about four metro lines are available.
Line 1
The Navi-Mumbai Metro trial run from Station no. 1 Belapur to Station no. 7 Central Park was conducted successfully on 30/12/2022.

This 11.10-kilometre stretch of a line is from Central Business District or CBD Belapur to Pendhar. CIDCO recently took to Twitter to announce that they are planning on opening the first line of Navi Mumbai Metro to the public in April of 2023, which is this month. It will have 11 stations.

Line 2

This line is an extension of Line 1 of NMM. It is said to have a total of six stations so far and will stretch across 7.12 kilometres. It will start from Taloje Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation or MIDC and end at Khandeshwar.

Line 3
This line is also an extension of Line 1. It, too, will start from Taloje MIDC but will end at Pendhar. It stretches across 3.87 kilometres and, so far, is said to have a total of only three stations.

Line 4
Little to no details about this line are available. We know that, like all other lines of NMM, this is an extension of Line 1. We also know that it stretches across 4.17 kilometres. However, we don’t know how many stations it will have. All we know so far is that it will begin from Khandeshwar and will end at the Navi Mumbai International Airport or NMIA which is currently still under construction.
