Our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, was invited by the great actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui to his home for a wholesome meal and a tour of his mansion. While having a candid chat over some delicious Dal Gosht, Bajra Roti, and Phirni, Nawaz spoke about traditional dishes from his gaon, played a fun game in his UP accent, shared about the similarities he sees between Mumbai and his village in UP and more. He even interacted with one of his fans, who asked him a few questions related to his characters in Bollywood films. Read on to know more.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui Refuses To Break A Character Before A Shoot Wraps
If you’ve ever wondered how Nawazuddin Siddiqui brings such depth to his roles, it’s because he fully immerses himself in the character until the shoot is completely wrapped. During the fan interaction segment, a lucky fan of Nawaz got a chance to speak to him. The fan went on to ask Nawazuddin Siddiqui how he has portrayed several intense roles in films and whether he carries that same intensity in real life. To this, Nawazuddin smiled and replied, “Main real life mein bilkul uska ulta hoon. Woh toh itne intense roles karne padte hain.” When asked if there’s any character that has stayed with him even after he goes home, Nawaz said, “Main jab tak shooting kar raha hota hoon, mujhe us role mein rehna pasand hai, accha lagta hai.” He added, “Isse kya hota hai ki us character ki consistency bani rehti hai.”
During the conversation, Nawazuddin even reenacted his iconic Karachi reporter dialogue as Chand Nawab from Bajrangi Bhaijaan. He instantly slipped back into the character, nailing every detail and expression just like he did in the film. Kamiya was amazed at how effortlessly Nawaz picks up any role at any time. ‘’Watching him perform is truly a pleasure,’’ Kamiya said. Nawazuddin Siddiqui always tries to find a personal connection with the characters he plays, which helps him deliver authentic and impactful performances.

We Played A Fun Game With Nawaz
Kamiya took Nawazuddin Siddiqui through a fun segment where she gave him a few English terms and asked him to change and speak in his signature UP accent. Words like ‘WhatsApp,’ ‘Oh My God,’ and more were part of the game. Nawaz had everyone laughing as he hilariously changed words in his UP accent, a side of him that was truly a delight to watch throughout the game. When asked how he would compliment a beautiful girl in his UP style, Nawaz laughed and said, “Abhi isko bolne mein bhi darr lagta hai.” Kamiya jokingly responded that it might lead to a controversy, which left everyone laughing.
Nawaz also shared a personal insight about how anger is his way of expressing love, something he inherited from his father. He said, “Isliye hamare yahan pyaar bhi na, gaali deke diya jaata hai. Aur main apne bachon ke saath bhi aisa hi hoon. Jab bhi pyaar aata hai, toh ek aad gaali jod deta hoon.” Kamiya jokingly added that if you haven’t received a few ‘gaalis’ from him, it probably means he doesn’t love you!
