The Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland takes visitors through the history of the Olympic Games from ancient Greece to modern-day today. This interactive museum houses artefacts related to the sport and Olympic movement. It’s situated in Lausanne as it’s home to the International Olympic Committee for 100 years. Now, the Olympic Museum will also exhibit Olympic Gold medalist Neeraj Chopra’s historic gold-medal-winning javelin.
The Olympic Museum Houses Neeraj Chopra’s Gold Medal-Winning Javelin
Ace javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra donated his gold-medal-winning javelin to the Olympic Museum in Lausanne. The Olympic gold medalist took to Twitter to state that it was an honour to donate his Tokyo2020 javelin to the Olympic Museum. Neeraj Chopra hopes its presence will inspire younger generations to work hard towards their dreams. The occasion was made even more special as Olympic gold medalist Abhinav Bindra was also per cent at the event.

Neeraj Chopra’s Javelin Disaplyed Near Abhinav Bindra’s Rifle
Apart from Neeraj Chopra’s gold-winning javelin, the museum also houses the rifle of Abhinav Bindra, the first Indian to win an individual Olympic gold medal in Beijing 2008. Bindra revealed to the media that he is delighted that Neeraj Chopra’s javelin has joined his rifle, which has been lonely so far.
International Olympic Committee’s Heritage team manages the museum which has a rich collection of artefacts of 120 years.
