netherlands removes ban on flights from india

Ever since the second wave of the coronavirus virus swept the nation, the government and healthcare workers are striving hard to control the spread of this virus. Many countries banned flights from India. The Indian government took stringent measures with several state governments enforcing lockdowns or curfews to curb the spread of the coronavirus, and there has been a drop in Covid cases. And now, Netherlands has lifted the ban on passenger flights from India. But travellers must test Covid negative before departure. According to a statement by KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, both vaccinated and non vaccinated Indians can travel to the Netherlands, but the country will not be offering any vaccinations.

Netherlands Make Booster Shot Mandatory From February 2022

If you are planning to travel to the Netherlands, you will need a booster shot. The Dutch Minister of Health, Hugo de Jonge, has announced that starting from February 2022, the country will recognise COVID-19 vaccination certificates that indicate that the passenger has received a booster shot. This means that the Netherlands is reducing the validity of vaccinations from 12 to nine months. Travellers who do not meet the requirement should follow additional entry rules.

The Netherlands Removes Ban On Passenger Flights From India

Good news for international travellers, the Netherlands lifted the ban on Indian passenger flights from June 1, 2021. As per the official release, the Dutch government had enforced the ban on April 20, 2021, and has lifted the ban on June 1, 2021. Now, passenger flights from India will be able to enter the Netherlands effectively.  However, the Indian government continues to enforce the international flight ban till June 30, 2021. This is to ensure that the drop in covid positive cases continues and India can be coronavirus free. Vaccinated or non-vaccinated travellers from India can enter the Netherlands again but they must test Covid negative before departure and follow all quarantine rules on arrival. The Netherlands will not be offering any vaccinations to travellers.

But let us inform you that these restrictions do not apply to international all-cargo operations flights that have been approved by DGCA. Earlier, international flights were first banned in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then this ban has been extended multiple times. We sure hope that other countries too continue to lift their ban on Indian flights and once again, things go back to how they were before,  free and without the worry of a virus.
