Memes and sarcastic jokes are surely some of the easiest ways to grab everyone’s attention online. Social media platforms are filled with memes of all kinds and create controversies many times. And this time, Subway tried something like this and began receiving massive criticism and backlash from Netizens. An outlet in Georgia is facing criticism for being distasteful for putting up a sign that is hurting the sentiments of many people.

Twitter user Amanda Butler (@Amanda72118560) took to the microblogging platform to share a picture of the hoarding outside an outlet in Georgia’s Rincon. The billboard reads “Our subs dont implode”.

This advertising stunt by Subway seems like a satirical take on the recent implosion of the OceanGate submersible. 5 people on board lost their lives while going to explore the Titanic wreckage underwater. The entire world was simply in a state of fear and shock hearing about this doomed horrifying accident. We can only imagine the heart-wrenching conditions of the family and friends of the 5 deceased ones. The sarcastic tone of this incident is being judged by many Netizens.

Twitter Users Are Furious On The Company For Making Such A Sensitive Promotional Stunt

Amanda Butler shared the picture of this Subway sign seen in Rincon on 3 July 2023. In a very less time, the tweet began grabbing everyone’s attention. Right now, it has over 52K views. Many comments under the tweet are about criticising Subway for being so insensitive and choosing something as tragic as the implosion incident to mock and make an advertisement out of it. Tweeple are raging seeing this billboard outside a Subway outlet in Georgia.
