The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is poised to be one of the country’s largest Expressways. Once completed, it is said to significantly improve the road connectivity in the country. Recently, a stretch of it that connects New Delhi and Vadodara was recently inaugurated. PM Narendra Modi inaugurated the stretch on October 2, Monday. From, route and cost to travel time, here is everything that you need to know about the New Delhi-Vadodara stretch of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway.

New Delhi-Vadodara Stretch Of Delhi-Mumbai Expressway Inaugurated

The New Delhi-Vadodara stretch of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway was recently inaugurated by the Prime Minister of the country on October 2, which is also celebrated as Gandhi Jayanti in India. This newly inaugurated stretch will reduce travel time between New Delhi and Vadodara to just 10 hours.

What initially was a distance of around 1,000 kilometres is now reduced to only 845 kilometres. And where it took 18 to 20 hours to travel between the two cities, it will now only take 10 hours. It will therefore significantly improve road connectivity. This stretch cost around ₹11,895 crores.

The route of this e-way will connect a number of important cities. It will pass through Dahod, Dausa, Godhra, Kota, Lalsot, Sawai Madhopur and Sohna. Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan are the three cities states that it passes through. It stretches for 79 kilometres in Haryana, 244 kilometres in MP and 373 kilometres in Rajasthan.

About This Ambitious New Road Infrastructure Project

The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is one of the biggest road infrastructure projects in the country It stretches across 1,386 kilometres and, once completed, will connect the National Capital of the country to the financial capital of the country.

Before the inauguration of this stretch, the Sohna-Dausa section, measuring 202 kilometres, was also inaugurated and is now operational. The Madhya Pradesh stretch measuring 244 kilometres is also completed and operational.

Since the environment is also a concern, the expressway will also include a greenfield corridor which will ensure that the local habitats are preserved.
