Namma Yatri app will offer auto fares at government-fixed rates. So, commuters in Bengaluru can let out a sigh of relief. Passengers can travel within a 2 km radius of offices, residences and metro stations at a flat rate of ₹40. They need to pay an additional ₹10 as pick-up charges. Why Are Auto Drivers & Customers Frustrated In Bengaluru?
Frustrated with the large commissions charged by ridesharing aggregators, the Bengaluru auto union decided to launch this app. Over time, auto drivers lost clients due to the exorbitant prices charged by these apps. The state government also got involved in the matter. It instructed Ola and Uber to stop operating auto-rickshaws in the city on October 6.
The government called it an illegal practice to charge a minimum of ₹100 on rickshaw rides. Despite the notice, ridesharing apps continued to operate autos. Well, we hope that Namma Yatri will solve the woes of both commuters and rickshaw drivers. Here’s waiting for pocket-friendly and hassle-free rickshaw rides in Bengaluru from November.
