A report by India.com, throws light on the fact that Vande Bharat Express trains have installed sensors. These sensors are designed to detect and monitor smoke levels continuously. If the pre-defined threshold is crossed, an alarm will be triggered. Once one activates it, the alarm will provide detailed information on not just the location of the smoke but also the source. This alarm then enables swift action to address any potential risks to other passengers and the crew.

Smoke detection sensors are also placed in the AC compartment of the ICF coaches. The same sensory system is also present in the toilets of the new LHB coaches. The main objective of this smoke detection system is to ensure that the smoke is detected quickly and prevent any mishaps or train fires. The toilets of the new LHB coaches are a testimony to Indian Railways’s commitment to early fire detection and prevention.
