Noida Metro Aqua Line Extension: From Modified DPR To Stations List, All The Latest Updates About The Project

Officials shared updates about the extension of the Noida Metro Aqua Line on December 5. The Uttar Pradesh government submitted the modified Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the Aqua Line corridor’s extension to the Centre for approval. All About The Noida Metro Aqua Line Extension

Lokesh M, Noida Metro Rail Corporation’s Managing Director, shared that the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet provided approval for the revised Detailed Project Report for the big-budget project worth ₹2,991.60 crore. While talking about the new development, he highlighted that it will be a crucial milestone in improving public transport infrastructure. According to a report by Zee Business, he discussed the project’s prospects and how it can contribute to solving issues regarding traffic snarls. In addition, it will positively impact improving urban connectivity.

The Noida Metro extension plan will include 11 stations to the Aqua Line, covering 17.435 km. These new stations are:

• Sector 51 (existing)
• Sector 61 (interchange with DMRC’s Blue Line)
• Sector 70
• Sector 122
• Sector 123
• Greater Noida Sector 4
• Eco Tech-12
• Greater Noida Sectors 2, 3, 10, and 12
• Knowledge Park-V

Initially, the metro line project was planned to have eight stations. Back in June 2024, the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet approved the Detailed Project Report for the extended project’s proposal. The plan was to expand the metro corridor by an 11.5 km corridor extension.

These Are The Benefits Of The Extension Project

Speaking about the extension project, Lokesh M further discussed its advantages. He shared how this new development will connect important bustling locations in Noida and Greater Noida conveniently. This upcoming link will ease traffic congestion along Vikas Marg and the Noida-Greater Noida Link Road and offer much-needed relief to passengers.

In addition, the project will focus on enhancing access to the Aqua Line and the Blue Line of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation. Its estimated budget is ₹2,991.60 crore.
