Not long ago, the Internet was in shock when a doctor from Mumbai found a human finger with a nail inside a Yummo’s butterscotch ice cream ordered on Zepto. And now, a woman from Noida has claimed to have found a centipede in a tub of Amul ice cream ordered on Blinkit. Here’s more to it.

Noida Woman Shocked To Find Frozen Centipede In Amul Vanilla Ice Cream Tub

Deepa Devi took to X (formerly Twitter) to raise awareness on a concerning matter. The woman from Noida stated that she found a frozen centipede in her Amul Vanilla Magic ice cream tub ordered via Blinkit. She shared a picture of the same on X on July 15, 2024. The X user called it truly alarming to find an insect in her Amul India ice cream tub. Moreover, she states that quality control and food safety must never be compromised. 

She tagged the Food Safety and Standards Authority (FSSAI) and urged the body to take serious legal action against legal actions as incidents of contaminated food products have been increasing lately. Amul’s official customer care responded on X and asked her to provide them with her address and phone number as their team will look into the matter.

Netizens Call It A Disgusting Crime & Demand Strict Action

According to a report by India Today, the food department team visited Deepa’s home to investigate the matter. After questioning her, they went to the Blinkit store in Noida’s Sector-22. The ice cream tub containing the dead centipede had been dispatched from here. The Amul vanilla ice cream tubs were sent for testing. Moreover, officials found a lot of dust in the store which raised hygiene concerns.

Netizens were dismayed to discover yet another concerning incident of a contaminated packaged food product. One X user called it a “disgusting crime.” He stated that companies only focussed on sale numbers and neglected the quality of food products sold. The X user demanded companies to be penalised to prevent such irresponsible acts in the future.

Another joked about getting free protein with ice cream. @luckydrdo joked about Amul giving free insects with their ice creams. @Gunpree20788962 on facing similar issues in a pack of Amul curd. @nuys2014 asked companies to pay attention to avoid such incidents in the future.
