The world has now healed from the deadly outbreak of coronavirus and tourists are flying to new destinations without any restrictions or fear of being attacked by such a dangerous virus. So many destinations have begun recovering in these times of post-pandemic and credit for that goes to the demand and wishes of explorers to continue their passion for travel. Travellers of India are visiting beautiful destinations in many Southeast Asian countries. After the pandemic, China is struggling to recover. And in between such a recovery, Indian visitors are exceeding the numbers, taking more trips to these places, and also contributing a lot to the travel sector. Some airlines and hospitality companies are majorly influencing these tourists by venturing into the market with offers and targetting a proper market as well. Some analysts stated that the companies are targetting the growing middle-class Indian families, according to a report by Business Today.

Travel sectors and the tourism industry are certainly a major part of economic growth in all places and the impact of this industry is humongous on the economy of Southeast Asia as well. These countries are benefitted from the rise of this industry and here’s how the growth helps the economies.

  • Considering the time prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, about 12 per cent of Southeast Asia’s GDP was dependent on this sector.
  • As stated by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development, the travel industry is responsible for providing over 40 million job opportunities in these places.

Chinese tourists played a humongous role in the travel sector of many Southeast Asian countries in the past 10 years. But now the numbers are shifting to Indian visitors. There has been a weak recovery among travellers from China and South Asian countries also noticed a significant drop in these tourists.

Be it Singapore or Thailand, travellers from India are having a gala time exploring such stunning destinations. The population of the country is surely playing a massive role in the travel sectors and economy too.
