To keep up with the surge in customer demand for plant-based meals, Emirates has revealed that it’s doing something special for Veganuary. Yes, it was revealed that the airline is now introducing plenty of new vegan dishes onboard and in its lounges for this year. This is brilliant news for vegans as the airline already has over 300 plant-based recipes.
Emirates Has A Vegan Vault Of 300 Recipes
With the motive of treating its vegan travellers, Emirates has plans to introduce new vegan dishes onboard and in its lounges. Recently, there’s been a 40% increase in customer demand for plant-based meals. As a result, the plan is now to introduce more such specially curated dishes for the passengers. Currently, it has a vault of 300 vegan recipes in rotation, which spans across 140 destinations! This is already an increase from the previous 180 recipes in 2022.

At this point, it’s worth mentioning that in 2023 the airline served over 4,50,000 plant-based meals onboard, which was an increase from the previous year’s 2,80,000. Not to mention, vegan meal consumption has already grown by 40%, but in some regions, it has also exceeded the passenger volume growth.
Now, the airline serves vegan dishes in every class. For instance in Economy, customers can enjoy moreish dishes, such as Chickpea Crepe Stuffed with Carrot, Peppers, Mushroom & Tomato Concasse and Pumpkin Frittata. While in Premium Economy, they can relish Jackfruit Curry with Basmati Rice or a Rich Squash Chestnut Stew.

Similarly, in Business Class they can dive into a drool-worthy array of dishes, like Roasted Cauliflower with Ancient Grains and Shitake Mushroom with Glass Noodles. And those in First Class can relish expertly curated options, like Creamy Polenta Cake with Thyme Mushroom Ragout and Sautéed Spinach Drizzled in A Rich Root Vegetable Jus.
As it happens, vegan options are available to preorder onboard or it can directly be ordered in First Class and in Emirates lounges. Additionally, passengers can request we can order meals on all Emirates flights across all classes, 24 hours before departure.
So, if you are a vegan travelling with Emirates, you are bound to be spoilt for choice when it comes to their vegan menu.
