And now, a popular spot for movie lovers in Jebel Ali has closed down. We are talking about Novo Cinemas, which has shut its doors at the Ibn Battuta Mall.
Novo Cinemas Closes At Ibn Battuta Mall
As revealed by Khaleej Times in its report, it was mentioned that Novo Cinemas, which is a popular hotspot for movie lovers in the Jebel Ali area has now permanently shut its doors. Yes, it was located at the Ibn Battuta Mall! The news was reported by the outlet after one of its readers had found a hoarding that had replaced the cinema entrance in the China Court! And if one undertakes a quick search on the website of Novo Cinemas, they can find that it’s now only open at the Dragon Mart 2 in Dubai. In other emirates, you can find them at Sahara Centre, Manar Mall, and Bawabat Al Sharq Mall.

Not The Only Outlet Of The Cinemas No Closed
The next question that might arise in your mind is whether any other cinemas will be replacing Nova Cinemas at the Ibn Battuta mall. While there is no clarity on this so far, it’s worth mentioning that this mall is owned by Nakheel Properties. So, one can assume that Roxy Cinemas might take its place if it happens at all! However, at this point, it’s worth noting Novo Cinemas also closed its doors to the IMG world of Adventures quite recently. This branch also doesn’t appear on the website or on the app anymore. However, it’s not quite clear if they will be reopening any time soon or not.
So, if you are someone who used to live near Ibn Battuta Mall or live in the Jebel Ali area, this was the closest cinema for you. And now the alternative would be Reel Cinemas at Dubai Marina Mall or Roxy Cinemas at the Beach JBR.
This means, if you are in the mood to watch the latest flick on the silver screen, you will have to look for other alternatives.
