PM Narendra Modi, who is currently in Kolkata, virtually inaugurated a 17-km long stretch on the Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS). He also flagged off the Namo Bharat train from the Muradnagar RRTS station. This new section will allow commuters to cover the distance between Sahibabad and Modinagar in just 35 minutes! This is almost half the time of what it usually takes to cover the same distance by road.

In a statement issued by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC), with the inauguration of this 17-km section, “Namo Bharat services will be seamlessly available on 34 km of the Delhi-Meerut RRTS corridor, incorporating eight stations from Sahibabad to Modinagar North.”
Fares, Stations & Everything To Know About This Section Of RRTS
The Delhi-Meerut RRTS is an under-construction rail corridor that is 82.15 kilometres long and the first section on this line was inaugurated in October 2023 by PM Modi. The initial corridor started from Sahibabad to Duhai. The additional corridor, inaugurated today, will connect Duhai to Modi Nagar North.
This rapid train now connects eight stations and covers 34 kilometres. These stations include Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai, Duhai Depot, Murad Nagar, Modinagar South, and Modinagar North. There are five standard coaches and a premium coach on this train.
This train service will start from 6 AM and continue till 11 PM, with a frequency of 15 minutes. Fares for the standard class range from ₹20 to ₹90. For the premium class, the ticket fare ranges between ₹40 and ₹180.
