The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority is constantly trying to improve the infrastructure of the existing roads in Dubai to make life easier for the residents of the emirate. For this purpose, they constantly improve the existing infrastructure or even add to them for better and faster movement of vehicles. And for this purpose, they have now added a new bridge that will reduce travel time to just three minutes from Hessa Street to Al Khail Road.

The new two-lane bridge span is 1000 m as reported in a post by Dubai RTA on X and it is located on Hessa Street. With the bridge expected to enhance traffic flow on the street, it has reduced the travel time between Hessa Street and Al Khail Road from 15 minutes to just a mere three minutes.
This development comes at a time when 54% of the development project has been completed. Yes, the Hessa Street Development Project aims to ensure that there is a seamless flow of traffic between Dubai’s city centre and Dubai International Airport. Besides this bridge, the project also includes the upgradation of four major intersections. These are expected to become fully operational by the fourth quarter of 2025. Additionally, the AED689 million project also aims to serve the key residential and development areas.

A Cycling & Scooter Track To Make Life Easier
At this point, it’s worth mentioning that there will also be construction of cycling and scooter tracks. Yes, 13.5 km of cycling and scooter tracks will be connected from Al Sufouh to Dubai Hills through Hessa Street. As a result, these tracks will cater to the residents of Al Barsha and Barsha Heights.
Not to mention, they will also improve the last mile connectivity as Dubai Internet City Metro Station and other commercial hubs in the area will also be connected. It should also be noted that the new cycling track will include two bridges for both cyclists and pedestrians. And each of these bridges will be 5 m wide with their being 3 m for cycling and a scooter track and 2 m for pedestrian pathways.
With so many exciting additions being made to the road network, one can truly expect that commuting is going to become a lot easier.
