The world has moved a lot in the direction of digitalisation, even in the travel sector. From buses to booking tickets, everything is digital. Now with the launch of digital buses, BEST is all set to launch the Paytm Transit Card. This card will work for both Mumbai metros and BEST buses. This new development is expected to hit the market in March. Currently, the trials are on for this card.
The New Paytm Transit Card Will Make Your Travel Hassle-Free
The new Paytm Transit Card is a unified digital ticket payment option. This card will enable all commuters and travellers to pay for various purposes seamlessly. It is designed in such a manner that you can use it to pay for different modes of transport very easily. The development of this card is in line with the Government of India’s initiative, “One Nation, One Card.”
Paytm smart card recharge facilities will be available to people in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Delhi. All the transactions and recharges made using the prepaid card can be easily tracked online as the card is directly linked to Paytm Wallet. Users do not have to create a separate account and can simply top-up their wallet in order to use the transit card anywhere.
One Card, Access To All Public Transport
The new Paytm Transit Card can be used at toll plazas and for paying parking charges. With this card, all commuters will have access to every public transportation system, and they will not have to carry different cards. BEST General Manager Lokesh Chandra said that the transit card is in its final stages of preparation and will be launched in the month of March.
Senior transport expert with the Mumbai Mobility Forum and Mumbai Vikas Samiti, AV Shenoy, said that we must have a card just like London’s Oyster card for all public transport in Mumbai. The launch of the Chalo app has been one of the most successful developments. The launch of the Paytm Transit Card will take the experience to another level.
