Instead, the flight was orbiting over the Arabian Sea and dumping the fuel into the sea near Vizhinjam to decrease the weight of the flight. Dumping of fuel helps in the process of a safe landing. The flight was carrying 176 passengers and 6 crew members.

At first, the crew wanted to land at the Nedumbassery Airport but they had to let go of the plan as there could be issues on an emergency landing. And then they chose the Thiruvananthapuram international airport for the landing.

The Good News Is That It Was A Safe Landing!

After the Air India Express flight landed properly at the Trivandrum International Airport post a scary experience in the mid-air, the officials shared that any casualties were not reported and it was a safe landing too.

While taking off from the Calicut airport in the morning, the flight faced a tail strike on the airport’s runway. Along with the tail hit, reports are saying that the hydraulic gear got impaired as well, according to a report by the New Indian Express.
