Flying in an aeroplane is lovely, right? Looking outside the window and watching a bed of clouds. But, do you know that landing a flight is one of the riskiest jobs to carry out? According to the study released by Boeing Company, around forty nine per cent of fatal accidents happen during final landing. An Air India flight from Dubai had a similar risky landing and had to seek assistance from the airport. Here is what exactly happened on this Air India Express flight.

An Air India Express flight from Dubai to Thiruvananthapuram faced disturbance during landing. According to the authorities, the landing was normal and an emergency was declared by the pilot. They further said that the pilot did feel uneasy and sought assistance from the Air Traffic Control (ATC). The flight arrived at its scheduled time of 6:30 am. After landing, the flight went through a thorough check and it was found that the top layer of a wheel had decapped. After noticing this technical glitch, the plane was towed to the flight bay.

Passengers Deboarded Safely

There were one hundred and fifty six passengers onboard, including the crew, who were safely deboarded. However, no flights were diverted, even after the emergency landing. The Director General of Civil Aviation is set to initiate a probe into the incident.

A similar technical glitch was noticed on an Delhi-bound Air India flight. During a pushback process, the officials noticed a glitch and the flight was cancelled. There were over a hundred passengers on the plane.

As for the risks included during the landing, many accidents occur due to hilly terrain, low visibility, contaminated runways, and adverse winds. Some flights have technical glitches due to a lack of maintenance or parts of the aircraft wearing down. Like any other machine, aircraft need timely maintenance, especially commercial ones.
