Consumers today are very conscious when it comes to their travel choices. This is why electric vehicles have become a talked-about topic in India. Mumbai International Airport (CSMIA), in a bid to contribute their efforts towards the country’s walk towards a greener infrastructure, has come up with EV charging stations. These charging stations will be operational on December 9, 2022.
CSMIA Gets EV Charging Stations
Six robust DC fast EV charging stations have been installed at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA). These electric vehicle chargers are installed at both Terminals 1 and 2. They are all open as Public Charging Stations (PCS) for passengers as well as other guests visiting Mumbai’s CSMIA.
By installing EV charging stations at P1 (Multi-level Car Parking, or MLCP) at Terminal 1, P5 (MLCP) at Terminal 2, and the Airside of CSMIA, the airport is serving as an ambassador for change. Commuters owning private EVs will be billed for using the charging facility. All the EV users will get a deduction on their parking bills.

Features And Benefits
The fast chargers set up at MLCP work with all of the country’s current electric vehicles. To meet the charging requirements of Airside Logistics, more 60 kW and 240 KW capacity EV chargers will be installed soon. CSMIA’s spokesperson called this launch “momentous.” The green practises and choices of Mumbai’s CSMIA have made it one of the most sustainable airports in the world.
The installation of EV charging stations will contribute to building an environment that focuses on reducing carbon footprints. The air quality index around the office will surely improve.
