Mopa Airport: With A Swanky & Largest Station IndiGo Will Handle 12 Daily Direct Flights From 8 Indian Cities

Goa’s new airport in North Goa, Mopa International Airport, is all set to be inaugurated on December 11, 2022. This $3,000 million greenfield international airport is one of the most-awaited projects in India. This airport is expected to handle approximately 4.5 million passengers. As we cannot wait for its inauguration, IndiGo announced its largest station launch at the new airport already.

IndiGo Announces Its Largest Station At Mopa Airport

India’s budget carrier IndiGo announced its largest-ever new station launch at the New Mopa international airport. The carrier will handle about 12 daily direct flights from eight cities across India. Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Pune, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Jaipur are the eight major cities on the list.

This means a total of 168 flights per week will fly to and fro from the new Mopa International Airport. The airline said that it is introducing these flights to improve direct connectivity with Goa and thus meet the increasing demand. IndiGo will continue its operations at the existing Dabolim airport in Goa.

Ambition To Meet The Connectivity Needs

The Chief Executive Officer of IndiGo, Pieter Elbers, said that this massive opening is very momentous for IndiGo and that it reflects their ambition and ability to provide the needed connectivity to their customers and nation. The airline is the first in the aviation industry to launch a digital e-logbook in India.

The digital e-logbook will easily transfer every pilot’s flight data to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation directly. The new Mopa International Airport in North Goa will open on January 5, 2023, after being inaugurated on December 11, 2022. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is confident that with this new airport, many doors of opportunity and investment will open for the state.
