It took 60 years for Air India to return to the Tata group. It won the bid in October 2021 at $ 2.4 billion. The bid was the highest in the history of privatisation. Looks like Air India is all set to get back to its good old days. It is paying special attention to all aspects from discipline to its interiors. Recently, the airline invested ₹3300 crores to modernise its interiors and refurbish the seats in the cabins.
Air India Invests To Modernise Its Interiors
Air India listed various grooming instructions for its cabin crew members and other staff. It is also working on its discipline to make sure that the flights are on time. Now to enhance passengers’ experience even better, it has invested about a whopping ₹3300 crores to modernise its interiors.
The airline is all set to bring changes in the interiors of 13 B777 aircraft and 27 Boeing B787-8 aircraft. The existing cabin will be entirely refurbished. The old seats will now be replaced by seats that are on par with the latest generation’s style. For cabin designs, Air India has roped in Trend Works and JPA Design, which are London-based design firms.

Promises Best-In-Class Facilities
It is promising best-in-class facilities as the airline also operates on international routes. There are expectations that all the refurbishments will be completed by mid-2024. They are also launching premium economy cabins which were missing by far. With all the changes in the interior, passengers will be able to fly with an amazing experience without having to strain their pockets.
There are not many first-class passengers on Air India flights. The first-class cabin will still be present in the B777 e-body used by the airline. According to aviation industry experts, many passengers take first-class flights only internationally. Air India MD and CEO Campbell Wilson said that Air India is on its way to achieving a high standard of products and services to offer their guests a world-class experience.
