Before you jump onto the bandwagon to drink with your loved ones, remember its negative effects on your body, from triggering gut health and weight gain to causing dehydration. Feeling tired and bloated after drinking is a common issue faced by many. To avoid feeling dehydrated and sluggish and to wake up in a fresh mood, drink a glass of water for each alcoholic drink.
Drinking gin, tequila, whiskey, and vodka is fine only when you dilute them with water or sparkling water. To add some flavours, adding lime juice, cucumber slices, and oranges is a great idea. Do you love a spicy kick added to your drinks? Seems like you need a few jalapeno pieces in your drink. Nmami’s alcohol guide bears great news for beer lovers. Moderation is the key and sipping your favourite beer once in 2-3 weeks is fine. Make sure to not extend beyond chugging one or two bottles.
It is advisable to avoid drinking cocktails, mocktails, and drinks that are simply loaded with sugars and extreme calories. If you are possessive about calorie intake, choose dry wines. A few other options are gin, tequila, or vodka diluted with soda water or fresh lime rather than sugary mixers.
We Are Taking Note!
If you want to feel fresh the next day, completely avoid drinking alcohol on an empty stomach. Instead, you can pair your booze with healthy snacks or a meal. The nutritionist suggested having peanut, chaat, roasted chaana, chickpea, radish with lime and salt, and steamed edamame.
Last but not least, focus on recovering the next morning. Try drinking water infused with lemon. This works great for rehydration. Try skipping caffeine as it can dehydrate you further. Another effective step is to eat detox-friendly food items such as beets, cucumbers, and green leafy vegetables.
