Malaika Arora Talked About Her Relationship With Her Mother

While looking back at some beautiful memories of Malaika Arora’s life, we came across one of her old pictures with her mother, Joyce Polycarp and sister, Amrita Arora. Seeing the picture, Malaika instantly called them her entire world with the children missing, of course. We were curious to know who among the two sisters was her mom’s favourite. 

Malaika revealed that her sister was always a mom’s girl. As a child, she was always after her mom—where she was going, and what time she would come back. Malaika, on the other hand, was quite the opposite. In fact, Amrita was accompanied by her mother for shoots in the beginning. For the first couple of shoots, Malaika’s mother went along with her as well. After that, she told her mom that she was confident about going by herself. 

Next, we asked Malaika Arora if there was one quality she would like to take from her mother; what would it be? She revealed that her mother’s resilience is something she aspires to adapt. She has a ‘Never say die’ spirit and she has also instilled that in both her daughters. She has always pushed them to get back up and fight, no matter what life throws at them.

Shooting For ‘Chaiyya Chaiyya’ Was Fabulous

The highlight of Malaika Arora’s career is the iconic song ‘Chaiyya Chaiyya’ with Shah Rukh Khan. Her dance performance on a moving train impressed everyone. It is one song from decades ago we all still can’t get enough of. In conversation with Kamiya, Malaika shared a funny anecdote from when she was shooting for this song. She shared that she was so light-weighted while shooting that everyone was concerned that she would fly away while dancing on the moving train. To avoid that risk, her ankle was tied to the train. However, it was taken off shortly after as it restricted her movement while dancing.
