Pankaj Tripathi On Bihar’s Healthy & Nutritious Sattu Drink

Kamiya and Pankaj were strolling the vibrant and beautiful streets of Fontainhas while chatting about life, Goa, food and more. Pankaj hails from Bihar and it was only right that we spoke about Sattu, a popular and healthy protein and fibre-rich drink of Bihar. The food item is a powder made from dry roasting and grounding barley or Bengal gram.

The actor said, “Bihar’s sattu is a non-alcoholic drink. It is a fabulous drink packed with protein.” He continued that this dish is made with roasted chana grounded into a fine powder. It is an incredibly health-conscious beverage which is great for the stomach.

To make this drink, Pankaj Tripathi likes to add a couple of spoons of sattu to a glass of water. Then add black salt, jeera powder and a generous amount of lemon juice. Now, mix well and all the ingredients should dissolve in the water without any lumps. Voila, you have your own delicious and healthy drink, sattu!

Enough about Bihar’s sattu with Pankaj Tripathi! We were in Goa and it was time to sip on feni. Feni is a traditional alcoholic alcoholic drink of Goa which is made with fermented cashews, apples or coconut. Cashew is the most popular choice for feni and we wanted to try it out with Pankaj.

On the topic of this alcoholic beverage, the actor shared his first experience of trying it. He enlightened us with how he isn’t scared to try new things, especially when it comes to food. He said, “You should always do a quick taste test of everything to learn whether it is bitter, sweet or salty as that is what life is made for.”
