Life is not easy for everyone, they say! Well, that is so true. Now that you all know the news about ₹2000 notes, here is something related. People from the remote villages in Ramgarh have to travel about 10km to 17km only to deposit or exchange their ₹2000 notes. The financial institutions have not yet come up with any mobile banking facilities for these villages. These people belonged to the two villages, namely Gola and Dulmi.
Villagers Walk Kms To Exchange ₹2000 Notes In Ramgarh
The villagers from Gola and Dulmi in Ramgarh have to walk 10 to 17 kilometres just to get their ₹2000 notes exchanged or deposited.
Most of the people who live in these villages have bank accounts in Chitarpur, Ramgarh, or the Central Coalfields Limited’s (CCL) Rajrappa project area. All these places are about 10-17 Kms away from these two villages.
All the villagers living in these areas, as well as those living in the bordering villages of West Bengal, are forced to go to the Gola Block headquarters in the absence of banking facilities. This includes chief minister Hemant Soren’s native village that comes under the Gola block, Nemra.

Launching Mobile Banking Facilities
A zilla parishad member from the same village told TOI that labourers and farmers save money at home. Hence, one cannot rule out the possibility of ₹2000 notes with them. The banks have given a deadline of September 30 to deposit these notes into the bank. But according to him, the financial institutions should also come up with mobile banking facilities to help villagers who have to walk such long distances to do the same.
A person from Dulmi Block said that Dulmi Block is the only one that lacks any public or private sector banks. Ramgarh’s Lead District Manager (LDM), Sanjeev Kumar, said that no mobile banking facility has been launched by any bank.
